Bill, another graphics person! I am semi-retired, try to paint every day...still do the occasional web site or marketing materials. What a great way to get into fine art!
Bill, you did a great job! Thanks for your feed back, this was a challenge for me, but I really did enjoy it. I am glad you like the results. It is on a 12x24 canvas. If you would like to exchange portraits I would be up for it. Karen
Vici--Thanks, I finished it around 2:00 am. The best thing about that time is –the phone doesn't ring.
Karen W., send me an e-mail with your address.
Dominique--When I paint or draw, I try to have the shapes relate to each other.
Carol--Trust yourself. I made a Flash file of the images I shot. I shot the painting each time I dried the paper. I look at it now and think, why did I paint that. I wasn't really thinking--just doing. :)
Bill B.--I too am coming out of a deep sleep...stay awake!
Love the freshness and lightness of this portrait. Complementary color usage really makes it shine. Lots of energy expressed in the strokes and expression.
Victoria-- Thank you for your comment-I got lucky. I too haven't quite got the right settings for my scanner. I just can't get the vibrant colors to totally come out. The best images seen to come from shooting outside on a sunny day.
Allright Bill... where the heck is your painting for this weeks challenge??? No pressure- right?! ha ha I had it in my mind that I wasn't going to participate this week- but something just struck me and I belted it out.
This portrait is awesome! I have not messed around with Watercolor all that much- but this is so vibrant and fresh- it makes me want to try! Very nice! I look forward to seeing more of your work- Tom

I really like the angle of the head and the background treatment.
Kathleen-- Thank you. I enjoyed your music. I wonder if my messy space is worth $25 bucks. :)
Really nice portrait, Bill!

Great movement and nice portrait.
Lovely, fresh watercolor! Love it!
Super cool demo. How in the world did you do that??
Great work on this one. Not being a watercolor person, I am always amazed at how a good watercolor artist does it, when I see one as fine as this.
This turned out really beautifully! I really like your expressive brush work. Very nice!
Thanks Ed!
