Jefferson Memorial at Night

Night scene of the Jefferson Memorial, Washington, DC.
This painting was a real challenge. Night tends to flatten colors. The challenge is when you have several light sources...inside, outside, and around. I'm not sure if I should post the procedure I did for this painting—it was a struggle. I tend to feel my way through a painting.

I really like the way the Jefferson Memorial glows and stands out against the blue sky in the background.

This has a lovely, serene feel. I like the way the light is reflected on the (wet?) sidewalk. I found this image extremely challenging to paint as well. You did a great job.

I think this is my favorite of the bunch. You are getting better and better at watercolor so quickly!

Carol-- Thanks. I took a long sleep from painting. This group is getting me back into it.
